Sorry, this will be a f**ed-up bug report.
So, I upgraded to the version 1.1.6fix3-1 with apt-get upgrade, and I couldnt
get a preview. The menu "view" was empty, only "Update" "LaTeX Logfile" and
"Table of contents" showed. the submenu "Update" was also completly empty.
Oh, yes and when starting up, lyx printed out some error message about not
understanding some config file in the ~/.lyx dir. (I swear I didnt edit anything
there!)
I looked around, couldnt find anything usefull, and in my last desperate effort
to get a ps output I deleted my ~/.lyx directory. (I didnt change anything in
there before, it was automagically generated when I first launched lyx.) So
when lyx restarted, it wrote out, that it will make a .lyx dir for me, and the
"view" menu got filled up again and now I get the usual nice ps output.
I think the problem may have been, that the new version cant understand the old
config files.
So here I shoud write which version of lyx I upgraded from, what was in my .lyx
dir before upgrading, but I dont have anz more info, and dont want to downgrade
lyx to have a try. I you cant figure out anything from this, its okay, just
forget this bug.
