Package: fai-client
Version: 5.2
Severity: wishlist
The FAI guide says the following about pulling in packages from a
non-default release:
~~~
If you like to install packages from another release than the default, you
can append the release name to the package name like in
openoffice.org/etch-backports. You can also specify a certain version like
apt=0.3.1
~~~
However, it is often necessary to get a package and at least some of its
available dependencies from backports, and it is not practical to have
to track and specify each one to allow the minimum required version to
be pulled in. In such cases, there is a significant difference between
aptitude -t jessie-backports install <package>
and
aptitude install <package>/jessie-backports
Would it be possible to add an option similar to how there is
aptitude-r, or a
way to add options to the package installation command line that would allow
users to specify them for a certain set of packages?
Many thanks and regards
Afif
