The compose sequences for Ð and ð (Compose, "D", "-" and Compose, "d", "-"
respectively) are not handled by gnome-terminal. It should either accept
the character (as other Gnome programs do), or reject it as an invalid
compose sequence by beeping (as it does for example for Compose, "T", ",",
an iso8859-2 sequence for Tcedilla).

This is a re-report of part of bug #213830 (the maintainer advised to
do that when XFree86 4.3.0 entered the unstable release).

Hi Kimiko,

This works for me in the en_AU.UTF-8 locale, using a US keyboard. I've
mapped my right Windows key to be Compose (Multi_key) using:

$ xmodmap -e "keysym Super_R = Multi_key"

Then in gnome-terminal, pressing "Compose D -" and "Compose d -", I get
'Đ' and 'đ' respectively.  I'm still a bit dubious since 'đ' isn't 'ð'.
However the original report is that gnome-terminal wasn't responding to
these sequences, so I feel that part at least is fixed.

The issue of whether the correct character is being generated can be
opened as a separate bug report... feel free to do so! Cheers!

   Vince
