Package: evolution-exchange
Version: 2.0.2-2

This version of evolution-exchange, unlike the purchased,
commercial version of ximian connector 1.4.6, will not
allow the connection of the e-mail client with the Global
Access List (GAL) of the Microsoft Exchange server. All
other functions seem to work including e-mail and calendaring.
However, the GAL just gives no response, not even an error
message...nothing.

I have viewed and participated in the ximian-connector
help forums/mailing list. The concensus there for this
problem is that a patch (located here

http://patches.ximian.com/download.cgi?object=openldap-ntlm.patch-4

is supposed to be applied to the libldap2
(openldap v 2.1.30-3 now in debian) in order for this feature
to work. I have tried this with the source from debian, and it
does build and load (apparently) correctly. However, this does
not fix the problem. I plan to cross post this bug to
the libldap2 maintainer in hopes that one or the other will
fix the problem so that we (those of us forced to use Microsoft
Exchange mail servers, ugh !!) can again use the GAL features
that I have to admit are nice when sending e-mails to a person in
our large organization.
