Package: libnet-dns-perl
Version: 0.68-1
Severity: important
Hi,
I have a problem with your new version of libnet-dns-perl.
On amd64 (where the current version does not build yet). I get the
following output, which is fine:
$ fpdns ns1.linode.com
fingerprint (ns1.linode.com, 69.93.127.10): ISC BIND 9.2.3rc1 -- 9.6.1-P1
fingerprint (ns1.linode.com, 2600:3c00:0:0:0:0:0:a): No match found
On i386, while using the new version 0.68-1, I get the following error:
$ fpdns ns1.linode.com
Net::DNS::Header::data: no such method at
/usr/share/perl5/Net/DNS/Fingerprint.pm line 669
Do you have any idea what went wrong?
Best regards
Thorsten

I tested fpdns 20190131-1.1 on both amd64 and i386 and the issue
didn't appear anymore on my end; the output looks mostly normal:
$ fpdns ns1.linode.com
fingerprint (ns1.linode.com, 162.159.27.72): No match found
fingerprint (ns1.linode.com, 2400:cb00:2049:1:0:0:a29f:1a63): No match
found
grepping through the affected file, I don't see any occurrence
of the affected method in the source file anymore, so I can't
imagine how the issue could still affect the package:
$ grep Header /usr/share/perl5/Net/DNS/Fingerprint.pm
$
Given Florian's comment from 2018, it seems it might be the case
for some time:
> It looks as though this might have been fixed and forgotten with
> libnet-dns-perl 0.77 or the simultaneous changes in fpdns.
I tend to think this bug is not current anymore.
Have a nice day, :)
