Package: kdm
Version: 4:4.4.5-7+squeeze1
Severity: normal

After enabling plymouth with the squeeze theme, to the delight of
the user of a laptop, with uvesafb (due to her requirement of the
fglrx drivers for X proper), kdm doesn’t start any more.

This is related to the following bug in Launchpad:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/441653

The suggestion from there was to add a “sleep 1” before starting
kdm; installing file-rc fixed the problem for me.

Rhonda suggested I reportbug this, so here you are.

Version: 4:4.11.22-3+rm

kdm was last released with Debian 8 (jessie) in April 2015
and was removed from the Debian archive afterwards.
It has been superseded by sddm.
See https://bugs.debian.org/803635 for details on the removal.
I'm closing the remaining bug reports now.
