Regarding DEFAULT_EDITOR and
 e - Edit the current file

Well it would be neat to be able to pass it the current line number;
man emacs says
       +number Go to the line specified by number (do not insert a space
               between the "+" sign and the number).
As for ed, one would need to do e.g., 'ed\n654\n' perhaps to start on line 654.

So one should be able to do
DEFAULT_EDITOR:emacs +%l
as for ed, I'm not sure.

lynx-cur-wrapper was last released with Debian 8 (jessie) in April 2015
and was removed from the Debian archive afterwards.
I'm closing the remaining bug reports now.
