Package: vrrpd
Severity: important
The vrrpd source in Sourceforge is no longer maintained in Sourceforge
(since release 1.0 in 2008) but there is a fork, originally maintained in
Sourceforge as "Unofficial" [1] but available since October 2013 in Github
named "Advanced VRRPD" The fork has produced several releases (latest
1.14, working in a 1.15) and is currently providing Debian packages in
Github too:
https://github.com/fredbcode/Vrrpd
It would be recommended to update the vrrpd package with this new codebase,
as, based on the changelog, the new releases includes some general fixes
and improvements which might fix bugs reported in the BTS.
Should the package not be replaced then it should be probably be then
dropped from Debian, as the original software is no longer maintained
upstream.
Regards
Javier
