Dear Maintainer,
Could it be possible to do the following:
version=4
opts="uversionmangle=s/-rc/~rc/;s/-alpha/~alpha/;s/-beta/~beta/,
downloadurlmangle=s%archive/refs/tags/(v?@ANY_VERSION@)(@ARCHIVE_EXT@)%releases/download/$1/SuperTux-$1-Source$2%,
filenamemangle=s%(?:.*?)?v?@ANY_VERSION@(@ARCHIVE_EXT@)%@PACKAGE@-$1$2%" \
https://github.com/SuperTux/@PACKAGE@/tags
(?:.*?/)?v?@ANY_VERSION@@ARCHIVE_EXT@
(see https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1038393#15)
or am I doing it wrong?

Ok, uscan(1) says that @ANY_VERSION@ is capturing contrary to some others.
Moreover the v? prefix is now already part of it. So this solves my case.
Sorry for this noise.
