Package: kismet-current
Version: 2.8.1
Severity: normal
Hi!
Here are four variations of the same error message I got while attempting to
exploit the WEP-deciphering capability of kismet:
| FATAL: Invalid key 'FEEDFACEDEADBEEF010203040506070' length 0 in a wepkey
option in the config file.
| FATAL: Invalid key 'FEEDFACEDEADBEEF01020304050607' length 15 in a wepkey
option in the config file.
| FATAL: Invalid key 'FEEDFACEDEADBEEF0102030405060' length 0 in a wepkey
option in the config file.
| FATAL: Invalid key 'FEEDFACEDEADBEEF010203040506' length 14 in a wepkey
option in the config file.
The kismet.conf file line responsible for this reads:
| wepkey=00:08:E3:93:54:CC,FEEDFACEDEADBEEF010203040506070
(or its shorter variants).
Kismet should handle WEP keys of any length gracefully.
Cheers,
Jan.
