Hello all,
I've uploaded another NMU for evdi, updating to 1.14 to fix an FTBFS affecting
trixie/sid. At this point, though, I also wanted to think a bit about
longer-term help for the package. The last 4 releases have been NMUs, with two
(including the most recent one) being FTBFSs. None have received a response from
Hanno, nor has an email I sent about a year ago. Additionally, contributors.d.o
says that Hanno's last contribution was in February '22. The package also
currently has no canonical home in Salsa, with the last several releases not
being in a public VCS.
Unless we hear from Hanno, or anyone else volunteers, my intent is to salvage
this package and take over as the maintainer under collab-maint (now 'Debian' in
salsa), and LowNMU as a backstop to it. If anyone is interested in maintenance
but doesn't want to be The Maintainer™, please reply here; I'm more than happy
to accept co-maintainers or uploaders.
Regardless of whether Hanno responds to this message, I'd be remiss if I didn't
take the opportunity to thank them for getting this package into Debian
originally and maintaining it for several years. It's been far easier to deal
with than the Displaylink userland nonsense that one also needs to get display
over USB-C working.
