Package: mc
Version: 3:4.8.13-3
Severity: normal
genisoimage is a suggested package for mc and isoinfo (from the package)
is used to open an ISO archive and display the files in it. The display
is almost instantaneous with DVD-2 for Jessie.
mc is also capable of using xorriso for the same job. If xorriso is also
on the system it takes over from isoinfo. I do not know whether this
could be classed as a bug.
Whether or not genisoimage has been installed the opening of an ISO is
very, vary slow using xorriso; in excess of a minute on this machine.
xorriso -indev debian-8.2.0-i386-DVD-4.iso -lsl
Output from
xorriso -indev debian-installer/debian_isos/debian-8.2.0-i386-DVD-4.iso -lsl
is immediate, as is
xorriso -indev debian-installer/debian_isos/debian-8.2.0-i386-DVD-4.iso -lsl
pool/main
I'd conclude xorriso is not at fault.
Regards,
Brian.

Triaging my bug reports. Bug or not, upstream is uninterested. I am also
very unlikely to revisit the issue. Hence closing.
Cheers,
Brian.
