Package: makedev
Version: 2.3.1-58
Severity: wishlist

the device nodes for the nvidia xfree/glx drivers are missing.

the nvidia-kernel-x.y.z package does currently generate the devices
itself (which violates policy).

cite devices.txt from kernel source:
"195 char        Nvidia graphics devices
                  0 = /dev/nvidia0              First Nvidia card
                  1 = /dev/nvidia1              Second Nvidia card
                    ...
                255 = /dev/nvidiactl            Nvidia card control device"

ownership and perms are root:video, 0660.

regards
az
