Package: fontforge
Version: 0.0.20060430-1
Severity: normal
I edit a font (in this case FreeSerif.sfd) and select element -> font info
-> OS/2 -> sub/super. Click 'Default'. Some default values appear in the
boxes (like X=650 and Y=699). CLick OK, save the font. In the .sfd file, now
quite different (and mostly absurdly large) values appear:
OS2SubXSize: 21182
OS2SubYSize: 577
OS2SubXOff: 372
OS2SubYOff: 19672
OS2SupXSize: 7
OS2SupYSize: 4856
OS2SupXOff: -7672
OS2SupYOff: 17912
Even weirder, if I repeat this operation, many values are completely
different:
OS2SubXSize: 18356
OS2SubYSize: 577
OS2SubXOff: 372
OS2SubYOff: 19672
OS2SupXSize: -20304
OS2SupYSize: -80
OS2SupXOff: 4
OS2SupYOff: 17224
Even if these sub/super values do not seem to do very much in practice, this
cannot be right.
Regards, Jan
