Package: trickle
Version: 1.07-4
Severity: wishlist
To save user labor it'd be neat if there were more examples to
use in '/etc/trickled.conf', perhaps stored in new directories
like:
/usr/share/doc/trickle/conf
/usr/share/doc/trickle/conf/28K_modem
/usr/share/doc/trickle/conf/56K_modem
/usr/share/doc/trickle/conf/DLS_modem
...etc.
...and within these dirs there'd be files like:
apt-get.conf
firefox.conf
wget.conf
ftp.conf
ssh.conf
...etc.
...which would of course vary appropriately according to the bandwidth
of the dir any given file was in.
Since 'trickle' already has many users, good data for these is probably
"out there", so the users would just need to be polled to find out what
works for them.
Bonus: a setup install script might ask what bandwidth the
user has, check for the existence of any program listed
in the above, and piece together a good working 'trickled.conf'
so new users can hit the ground running.
Hope this helps...
