Package: fuseiso
Version: 20070708-1
Severity: normal
I have generated an ISO with genisoimage. This image contains mainly
tarballs for various other applications. It is about 4.6 billion bytes
(4.3 GB) in size. When mounted with the regular mount commands such as
'mount -o loop', the MD5 of all files match those of an MD5 list made
earlier, and the archives also pass a test of the 'gunzip -t' command.
However, when the same image is mounted using fuseiso, some of the files
have different MD5 values than when mounted with mount, and fail gunzip
or bunzip2 tests with an error of invalid compressed data.
The ISO is generated with the command:
genisoimage -iso-level 4 -r -J -o image.iso /path/to/files
It is mounted as one of the following:
mount -o loop,uid=allen image.iso mnt
fuseiso image.iso mnt
When mounted as fuseiso, most of the files pass the test, but some files
fail the test. For some of the files that failed the test, I made an
additional ISO image contianing just them and tested again using fuseiso
and md5sum, and they passed with the correct value.
