As you seem to be interested to have a newer version tagges (I guess you
are, because you opened this bug), the best course of action would be to
bring this to the attention of upstream directly. [1]

The changes upstream are not siginficant to warrant cherry picking them,
making this *not a bug*, therefore closing.
