Package: base
Severity: important

On a freshly installed system, using the user set up by the install program,
directly after installing x-window-system, I was unable to start xterm or
rxvt until I added the user to the 'tty' group. This is presumably because
of the permissions on /dev/ptmx:
crw-rw---- 1 root tty 5, 2 May 6 20:55 /dev/ptmx

I have no idea what went wrong here, whether the user should have been in
tty already or if ptmx has bad permissions or what.
