Package: ntp
Version: 1:4.0.99g-2
Severity: wishlist

There is an error in the description of the polling intervals in ntpd's
manpage. In the manpage, it says:

       minpoll minpoll maxpoll maxpoll
These options specify the minimum and maximum
polling intervals for NTP messages, in seconds to
the power of two. The default range is 6 (64 s) to
              10 (1,024 s).The allowable range is 4 (16 s) to 17
              (36.4 h) inclusive.

It says that you can fill in x, where the number of seconds between
pollings is x^2 ("seconds to the power of two"). Then it states that
6^2 is 64, 10^2 is 1024, etc. What you (very probably) meant, was
that you can fill in x, where the number of seconds between pollings
is 2^x ("2 to the power of the number of seconds", or something alike).

This must have been fixed in the meantime. The current version of the
man page explains this correctly.
