Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation?
- While attempting to install the systemd-container package via apt,
I encountered repeated 404 errors.
Upon investigation,
I found that apt was trying to install an outdated version
(252.31-1~deb12u1)
that no longer exists in the repository as it has been updated to
version 252.33-1~deb12u1.
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
- I ran `sudo apt-get update` and then `sudo apt-get install
systemd-container`.
The update command executed successfully,
but the install command resulted in 404 errors due to apt referencing
an outdated package version.
* What was the outcome of this action?
- The outcome was a failure to install the package due to 404 Not Found
errors
caused by apt attempting to fetch an outdated version of the package.
* What outcome did you expect instead?
- I expected apt to correctly identify and install the latest available
version of the
`systemd-container` package without error.

Hi,
I am closing this bug report as I have realized that the issue was due to a
misunderstanding of the package management process and not an actual bug
with the apt system. Further investigation showed that the problem was
caused by a temporary repository synchronization issue, which has now been
