The ethereal package requires a dependency on gnome-icon-theme to run
correctly. Otherwise all the icons are missing, which makes the
interface rather hard to figure out...

I tried to reproduce the bug by removing gnome-icon-theme, but I
couldn't. I don't know what the problem was when installing it fixed
things, but I guess you can close this bug report. Ethereal does stat
stuff in Gnome's icon theme, though. I've appended the results of strace
-e trace=file ethereal | fgrep /usr/share/icons
Thanks. I'm closing this until there's evidence that this causes some
problem.
