Package: gnome-mahjongg
Version: 1:3.22.0-1
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
Gmome-mahjongg is part of debian gnome destktop. I just start the game in
actual debian 9.6 standard desktop installation on a notebook.
When starting a mahjongg game, there is no way to select which layout to use.
It just starts with a default layout. At this time I right or left click about
everything to find a way to change the layout, but I cannot find any way to
change it.
The documentation on https://help.gnome.org/users/gnome-
mahjongg/stable/map.html.de claims, there should be a menu
mahjongg/einstellungen which allows to select one of 9 leyouts. I cannot find
such a menu.
When the game is finished, there is a pop-up window with title majongg. It
shows a dropdown to select the layout.
For one thing, in the dropdown, there is only two choices: easy and ziggurat!
Not nine layouts, like the mentioned documentation claims.
For the other thing, it does not matter which of the two layouts I select. When
I than press the new game button, it always starts a new game in the ziggurat
layout.
I expect to have the chance to select one of nine layouts, when starting the
game and I expect to select one of nine layouts when starting a new game after
finishing one. And I expect to play the layout, I selected.
I use debian, gnome and mahjongg for many years by now and I am afraid, the
problems do not actually come from the game itself, but have to do with the new
way gnome user interface changed from, gnome 2 to gnome 3.

There have been many changes to Debian since this bug was originally
reported. If you are still experiencing this issue with Debian 12 (or
with Testing or Unstable), please report a new bug.
I am able to switch between any of the 10 layouts.
Thank you,
Jeremy BĂcha
