Package: cifs-utils
Version: 2:7.3-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

we are testing the upgrade of our Debian clients with kerberized cifs
mounts and observe the following:

With kernel and cifs-utils from trixie, mounting the cifs home directories
fails because cifs.upcall looks for the wrong ticket file:

...
Mai 14 08:04:20 r205pc06 cifs.upcall[1860]: upcall_target=app, switching
namespaces to application thread
Mai 14 08:04:20 r205pc06 cifs.upcall[1860]: get_cachename_from_process_env: pid
== 0
Mai 14 08:04:20 r205pc06 cifs.upcall[1860]: get_existing_cc: default ccache is
FILE:/tmp/krb5cc_960601173

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

 wrong ticket file name

Using the kernel from experimental (6.14) fixes the problem.

Downgrading cifs-utils to 7.0 also fixes the problem (with trixie's 6.12 kernel)
and things work as expected.

We observed that using the mount option upcall_target is not known by trixie's
kernel (but is known and seems to work with 6.14).

Best regards,

  Andi
