Package: gnome-software
Version: 3.22.4-1
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
I am using LXDE desktop on Stretch. When updates are available, seen by
PackageKit and downloaded, Gnome Software displays a "Reboot and
install" blue button in the "updates" tab (labels might not be exact, I
can not find a way to run Gnome Software in English).
The problem is that clicking on it does not reboot computer. Actually,
from the user point of view, it does nothing. As this work when using
Gnome desktop, I suppose this is because the reboot action is done in
desktop-specific way. I can not tell if this work on other DEs.
However, when I manually reboot the computer, the updates are correctly
installed.
If you want, I can report this upstream.
Best regards,
Yvan

Since 43.0, gnome-software tries several desktop-environment-specific
ways to reboot.
(GNOME Software is primarily designed to be used in GNOME, though; it
cannot be expected to work perfectly in all desktop environments.)
