Gamescope 3.16.4 and newer requires scRGB.
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/gamescope/issues/1825 is the upstream tracked
bug. You will get this error "wp_color_manager_v1#19: error 0: Windows scRGB is
not supported". You can reproduce this by running this command 'gamescope --
vkcube'
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
Users can work around this by passing '--backend sdl' when launching games
failing to do this causes nothing to launch. Users will either have to add this
to their Steam launch options or in my previous example use 'gamescope
--backend sdl -- vkcube'.
There is a patch/pull request
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/gamescope/pull/1867 that addresses this issue.
I am not sure if this should be incorporated or wait for it to be added the
next gamescope release.
