Package: libhdf5-dev
Version: 1.14.5+repack-3
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation?
I was trying to build some code where I included hdf5 installed
via apt with libhdf5-dev.
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
I tried to build the code. I also purged libhdf5 entirely and
reinstalled.
* What was the outcome of this action?
CMake managed to find the package. But when linking, ld can't find
the symbol mentioned in the subject. For some reason it seems to be
checking for an older version than what's install.
* What outcome did you expect instead?
I expected that all symbols would be defined. This does look quite
similar to bug #1052250
