I made a couple of distupgrades in the last days, on a system running
Sid and using ACPI suspend.
Now it suddenly happened: iceweasel refused to start. Pointless error
message:

It's not a hard crash either (no core dumped), it's normaly terminated:

But I could start it in safe mode. I disabled all add-ons and it was
still the same behaviour. I upgraded to experimental version and that
didn't help either.
So I looked around in the strace log and saw that the last opened
libraries are libdrm.so.2, libdrm_radeon.so.1 and some plugins of that
packages. This reminded me on a little change that I applied a couple
of months ago, see

And indeed, unsetting MOZ_USE_OMTC makes iceweasel happy again.

src:iceweasel has been superseded by src:firefox-esr in version
45.0esr-1 in March 2016. Transitional packages to ease upgrades were
provided in the wheezy, jessie, stretch and buster releases. The
transitional packages have been removed finally before the bullseye
release in August 2021.
After regular security support for buster ended in August 2022 and LTS
support ended in June 2024, I'm closing the remaining bug reports now.
