Dear Maintainer,
*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***
I can't open settings panel by gnome after i update from debian 11. So i excute
the command `gnome-control-center` with root.
Then i got an error message '(process:4866): libsoup-ERROR **: 21:43:43.898:
libsoup2 symbols detected. Using libsoup2 and libsoup3 in the same process is
not supported. Trace/breakpoint trap'.
Additionally, the version of `gnome-control-center` detected by reportbug is
not accurate.
The result of command `apt list | grep gnome-control-center` is that
'root@node1:~# apt list | grep gnome-control
WARNING: apt does not have a stable CLI interface. Use with caution in scripts.

It is unnecessary to run gnome-control-center as root.

You haven't actually completed the upgrade to Debian 12. Debian 12 has
gnome-control-center 1:43.6-2~deb12u1 but you only have 1:3.38.4-1
installed.
See the Release Notes which has upgrade instructions:
https://www.debian.org/releases/bookworm/amd64/release-notes/ch-upgrading.html
In particular, I highly recommend that you use the permanent release
code name (such as "bookworm" instead of "oldstable") in your
/etc/apt/sources.list so that you consciously choose to upgrade to the
Debian release you want.
I am closing this bug since the issue you are experiencing is because
of an incomplete upgrade and not something that the Debian maintainers
of gnome-control-center can fix.
Thank you,
Jeremy Bícha
