just returns garbage, because /usr/bin/king is just a symlink to
/usr/share/java/king.jar, which is non executable.
Certainly /usr/bin/king should instead be a simple shell script containing

java -jar /usr/share/java/king.jar "$@"
or something like that, to launch the program.
