Package: sqwebmail
Version: 5.8.3+0.76.3-5
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
Upon upgrading from devuan jessie to devuan Ascii (which is based on debian
stretch), I found that users can't send mail when using the sqwebmail
interface. When a message is composed, and the send button is chosen, an error
similar to the following appears:
"sendmail: fatal: [email protected](1000): Recipient addresses must be specified on
+the command line or via the -t option"
I am using postfix as my MTA. The problem is caused by the
/usr/lib/courier/sqwebmail/sendit.sh script. The default invocation of sendmail
doesn't work with postfix. For postfix users, the end of the sendit.sh script
should read:
"exec /usr/sbin/sendmail -OI -t -f "$1"
# exec /usr/sbin/sendmail $DSN -f "$1""
The first invocation needs to be uncommented, and the second needs to be
commented out. I would suggest that when the package is installed or upgraded,
the user should be advised to look at the /usr/lib/courier/sqwebmail/sendit.sh
script, and edit it as necessary. Ideally, it would be nice if debconf detected
which MTA is installed, and automagicly adjusted sendit.sh to match what the
sendmail binary of the MTA expects.
