Package: calibre
Version: 8.16.2+ds+~0.10.5-2
When editing the metadata for a book in calibre, editing the "Normal View" for
the Comments (book description) works perfectly.
However, if you switch to the "HTML Source" tab, then Calibre crashes when you
select any text.
Clicking in the tab is fine, but selecting text causes an almost-immediate
crash (sometimes delayed up to a quarter or half second or so).
This used to work without a problem (I fairly often select all of the html,
pipe it through an xsel + perl cleanup script I wrote `xsel -o | perl ... |
xsel -ib`, and then paste it back) but has been crashing for a few weeks
now . I tried reverting to calibre_8.15.0+ds+~0.10.5-1_all.deb but it still
crashes (so maybe the problem is in Qt6 or in the python Qt6 libs rather than
Calibre itself)
Hardware: Threadripper 1950x, Asrock X399 Taichi motherboard, 128GB RAM, Radeon
RX 7600
Software: Debian Sid, linux-image-6.17.11+deb14-amd64, xorg 1:7.7+26:amd64,
amdgpu driver, mesa 25.3.2-2, xfce4 4.20-1, X11 started from console
with startx rather than lightdm (because this machine is usually a
headless server but I'm temporarily using it as a desktop machine
while waiting for a dead CPU to be replaced).
There's nothing logged in ~/.xsession-errors but /var/log/kern.log has:
