Package: grip
Version: 3.0.7-1
Severity: minor
There are redundant phrases (e.g. "the Section called") in
some of the help docs links.
Two examples from '/usr/share/gnome/help/grip/C/ripconfig.html':
1) see <the Section called Using a SCSI drive in the chapter called
Ripping CDs with Grip>
2) The list of available switches can be found in <the Section called
Configuration (%) switches.>
...where the carets '<' and '>' mean the enclosed text is a
highlighted link.
In English, titles aren't preceded or qualified with "the <noun>
called..." unless there's something special or unexpected about a
particular instance of the noun. In the examples above, the titles
alluded to aren't special enough to call attention to their also being
chapters and sections.
Suggest changing those to:
1) see <Using a SCSI> drive in <Ripping CDs with Grip>
(Note that there should be two links, not just one.)
2) The list of available switches can be found in <Configuration (%)
switches>.
The same should be done for any phrases resembling those. Here's
what a scan shows:
>cd /usr/share/gnome/help/grip/C/
>find -name '*.html' | xargs grep -n 'the [a-zA-Z]\{4,8\} called' | sort
./cdplayer.html:202:>the Section called <I
./faq.html:124:>the Section called <I
./faq.html:126:> in the chapter called <I
./id3config.html:135:>the Section called <I
./miscconfig.html:125:>the Section called <I
./mp3config.html:131:>the Section called <I
./mp3config.html:147:>the Section called <I
./mp3config.html:228:>the Section called <I
./mp3config.html:280:>the Section called <I
./ripconfig.html:172:>the Section called <I
./ripconfig.html:189:>the Section called <I
./ripconfig.html:191:> in the chapter called <I
./ripconfig.html:238:>the Section called <I
./ripconfig.html:369:>the Section called <I
./sect-scsi.html:89:>the Section called <I
./sect-scsi.html:91:> in the chapter called <I
Hope this helps...
