Dear Maintainer,
Your package currently builds with sip4, which is a deprecated version of SIP.
The modern version of SIP is packaged as sip6.
The documentation on how to use modern SIP is available in sip6-doc package,
or on the SIP website [1].
It looks like stimfit only uses SIP by including <sip.h>. In SIP 6, it needs
to be generated on the fly, by running a command like:
sip-module PyQt5.sip --sip-h
Where PyQt5.sip is the name of the run-time SIP module that you want to use,
and sip-module(1) is provided by sip-tools package.
SIP 4 has an RC bug related to Python 3.12 [2] and it's unlikely to be fixed.
Please port this package to SIP 6, and after that is done, remove the build-
dependency on python3-sip-dev.
