Package: sylpheed
Version: 2.5.0-1
Severity: normal
Sylpheed seems to have problems with Hunspell spellcheck dictionaries.
If I create a new message and select the spellcheck option (menu
‘Werkzeug → Rechtschreibeprüfung’, with anglophone menus: ‘Tools →
Spellcheck’ or the like) it does check the orthography of the mail in
the language I’ve chosen in ‘Einstellungen → Allgemeine Einstellungen →
Verfassen → Rechtschreibprüfung’ (in an anglophone environment the
menus likely are called ‘Settings → General settings → Compose →
Spellcheck’ or the like). But in the composing window I cannot change
the spellchek dictionary in the menu ‘Werkzeug → Sprache einstellen’
(Tools → Set language). If for example Aspell dictionaries are
installaed on the system instead of Hunspell dictionaries there are
entries for the installed dictionaries in the concerning menu. It seems
that only Hunspell (and it seems also Myspell) dictionaries are not
recognized correctly by Sylpheed.
