Hi!

I usually have a syslog and an exim log open in screen windows. These
log windows always have the same number and are accessed by number ex-
clusively. However, they also show up when I cycle through the windows
using the 'next' command. There should be an option to exclude a window
from the cycle that is used with 'next'.

Also, I'd like to be able to bind commands or macros to commands instead
of letters like:

|bind 'msyslog' screen -t syslog@$HOSTNAME less /var/log/syslog/syslog

This "bind" command would prevent me from using m as a letter command
but would increase the possibility of mnemonic names if one has a lot
of these definitions.

A possibility to define one's own commands to be called after ^a: would
be fine, too.

Unfortunately, the upstream maintainers did not answer e-mail sent six
weeks ago. Maybe you as the Debian maintainer have a better connection
upstream. I'd appreciate if you could pass my ideas up to the correct
people.

Greetings
Marc

thanks

Hi,

After review, I’m closing this as wontfix.

The report asks for two substantial UI/behavior changes:
- per-window exclusion from next/prev cycling
- named multi-character commands after the command prefix

Since you've already raised this upstream with no response, I presume they have no interest in implementing.

Closing as wontfix.

Cheers,
Peter Dey
