Package: w3m
Version: 0.5.1-3
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

As indicated in my system information, I'm using [EMAIL PROTECTED], as
setup in dpkg-recondigure locales. It means that LC_MONETARY should use
the euro symbol. But that symbol is not available in fr_FR's default
charset ISO-8859-1, so that [EMAIL PROTECTED] actually uses ISO-8859-15. But
w3m still selects ISO-8859-1, so that euros don't get displayed in
web pages.

Some way to get around this is to set [EMAIL PROTECTED],
but it can't be chosen in Debian's dpkg-reconfigure locales, so that
is not a viable solution for Debian. w3m should really switch to
ISO-8859-15 charset when seeing the @euro modifier, just like the
locale system does.

I don't know about other modifiers, but there may be other issues like
this one for other locales.

Regards,
Samuel

These got fixed with upload of 0.5.1-5

Will, could you please try to trigger bug 305879 again? I suspect the
fix for 336120 fixed it too.

Samuel
