Package: libc5
Version: 5.4.46-3

I need libc5 libraries to run a particular application (MATLAB). I
have installed libc5 on two different systems. In both cases it
appeared that /lib/libc5-compat and /usr/lib/libc5-compat directories
were formed, /etc/ld.so.conf was correctly modified, but no libraries
were actually written to these directories. MATLAB could not link
to libc5 libraries.

Problem was 'fixed' by copying directory contents from a slink distribution.

libc6 2.1.3-13
kernel version 2.2.15 (machine #1, self-compiled)
               2.2.18pre21 (machine #2, distribution binary)

This is end-of-life for libc5. Libc5 is in sarge, but will not be in the next
release
of Debian. Accordingly, I am closing all the bugs against libc5.

So why isn't he in prison yet?...
