Package: dnsjit
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
As discussed on OARC's Mattermost:
""
It seems the new dnsjit packages for Ubuntu 26.04 have some issue. dnsjit and
dnsjit-dev can't be installed at the same time:
Unpacking dnsjit-dev (1.5.1-1~resolute+1) ...
dpkg: error processing archive
/tmp/apt-dpkg-install-VZloqc/77-dnsjit-dev_1.5.1-1~resolute+1_amd64.deb
(--unpack):
trying to overwrite '/usr/include/dnsjit/core/assert.h', which is also in
package dnsjit (1.5.1-2)
Errors were encountered while processing:
/tmp/apt-dpkg-install-VZloqc/77-dnsjit-dev_1.5.1-1~resolute+1_amd64.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
""
Ubuntu pulls Debian's package, so reporting it here.
Please split the package and put development files into -dev as we do in the
upstream: https://codeberg.org/DNS-OARC/dnsjit/src/branch/main/debian
There is no reason to install development files unless your building your own
.so libraries to load into dnsjit.
You then also need dependencies -dev packages which is missing from Debian's
dnsjit!
