nmu dbus_1.16.2-5 . ANY . unstable . -m "rebuild with debhelper 13.32"
The new version of debhelper (= 13.32) which just landed in unstable has
two improvements for postinst snippets. The changes are related to
DPKG_ROOT and sysvinit support and details can be found in [1]. For the
dbus maintainer scripts to include the updated versions of the snippets
provided by debhelper, a rebuild is required.
Simon (in CC) confirmed in IRC that performing a binNMU for that purpose
would be okay.

in IRC, Sebastian Ramacher asked me why only binNMU dbus and not everything
from that list. Let me record my answer here:
a) because only the changes in dbus are relevant for a GNU/Hurd chroot with
sys vinit in practice and
b) some packages where it *is* relevant still have pending patches and need a
new source upload in the future, so they will get rebuilt with the new
debhelper version then
I would also like to add:
c) because I only asked the dbus maintainer for their approval to submit this
binNMU request and
d) I hoped that by keeping the list as short as possible, it would reduce the
possible hurdles during processing of my request
Since it's now one week later I would like to send you a friendly ping to
maybe please consider performing the binNMU of dbus. It would help my work
on GNU/Hurd a lot.
Scheduled.
Cheers,
Emilio
