I request permission to do the transition for poppler 26.01

Poppler unfortunately bumps the soname with every monthly release.
This is the January 2026 release so we're still a few months behind
but this is still a significant improvement and it matches what is in
Ubuntu 26.04 LTS.

The auto tracker is good:
https://release.debian.org/transitions/html/auto-poppler.html

Reverse depends
==============
I successfully tested most reverse depends with Salsa CI. See the
build-reverse-dependencies section of
https://salsa.debian.org/freedesktop-team/poppler/-/pipelines/1089238

I canceled jobs which aren't needed for this transition [1] according
to the auto tracker.

I fixed openboard in unstable.

gdal and kitinerary failed only because Salsa CI's reverse dependency
jobs don't work when there is a version in experimental [2]. I
verified that the builds succeed for both of these in unstable and in
experimental.

xpdf wasn't included because of Salsa CI's current 100 job limit [3].
I successfully test built it locally.

calligra and libreoffice exceeded Salsa CI's limits. I successfully
test built calligra locally. I haven't test built LibreOffice yet but
it is likely to succeed since it succeeded in both Fedora & Ubuntu
which have the same versions of libreoffice and poppler.

Go ahead.

While this transition is ongoing and poppler has not yet migrated to
testing for this transition, how would you feel for #1138708 .

Should we either upload this fix without delay (but so delaying bit
the transition) or should we rather cancel it and upload only after
thransition is done?

If okay with the maintainer, please upload without delay.

It was okay so I have uploaded without delay (and all builds done on
buildds).

This transition is done. Closing.

Cheers,
Emilio
