Package: gnome-remote-desktop
Version: Testing : (recent version of) gnome-remote-desktop is incompatible
with gdm3
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
X-Debbugs-Cc: [email protected]
Dear Maintainer,
a routine update of my installation of testing (proposed by the Gnome software
manager) installed gnome-remote-desktop 50.1-5, which removed gdm3, leaving me
with no access to X.
An efficient stopgap measure was to remove gnome-remote-desktop.
This is reproductible : trying to reinstall gnome-software-manager againt plans
to remove gdm3 :
===========================================================
charpent@brique:~$ sudo apt install -s gnome-remote-desktop
[sudo] Mot de passe de charpent :
Installation de :
gnome-remote-desktop
SUPPRESSION :
gdm3
Sommaire :
Mise à niveau de : 0. Installation de : 1, Supprimé : 1. Non mis à jour : 0
Remv gdm3 [49.2-4]
Inst gnome-remote-desktop (50.1-5 Debian:testing, Debian:unstable [amd64])
Conf gnome-remote-desktop (50.1-5 Debian:testing, Debian:unstable [amd64])
===========================================================
I was tempted to flag this probleme as "critical" (renders the system
unusable), but did not want to cry "Wolf !"
Hope this helps...
