Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation?
the update manager would not update the zig package and
suggested it was a "real issue", which led me to install the
reportbug package
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
I did not try to fix anything myself, and decided to use
reportbug before attempting to manually correct it
* What was the outcome of this action?
Me installing reportbug and fumbling through the report process
* What outcome did you expect instead?
I didn't expect anything necessarily

It does not look like zig was ever packaged properly in Debian. So I'm
assumed you got it from a third-party. You'll have to get that third
party to update any such package. Thus closing.
