Package: nextcloud-desktop
Version: 3.16.7-1

When I open the “main dialog” and add a new account, and then click
on the button that says “sign up with provider”, the client crashes
with a segmentation fault:

$ LANG=C.UTF-8 nextcloud

exist"
nextcloud.gui.application: Migrating old config from
"/home/bronger/.local/share/Nextcloud" to "/home/bronger/.config/Nextcloud"
nextcloud.gui.application: Failed to move the old config directory to its new
location ( "/home/bronger/.local/share/Nextcloud" to
"/home/bronger/.config/Nextcloud" )
nextcloud.gui.application: Will move the individual files

This might be related to
https://github.com/nextcloud/desktop/issues/6080

I use Debian Trixie on AMD64.

Hey,

Great that you managed to find a workaround by removing the old configs. Still
it is not nice, that nextcloud client segfaults, but as you cannot reproduce
this issue anymore (and nobody else stepped up with the same issue) lets close
it.

Why it cannot migrate the config to the new location is unfortunately not clear
from the logs. Maybe there were no write permissions somewhere, but therefor
we would need the issue to be reproducible to test our ideas.

Regards,

hefee
