Package: mozo
Version: 1.16.0-1
When opening the properties dialogue of a menu item mozo writes
a .desktop file to ~/.local/share/applications (even if you make no
changes and select 'Close'). As a result the application will no longer
be an option in the 'Preferred Applications' menu.
To reproduce:
* Install Claws Mail and set it as the preferred mail reader via
Control Centre > Preferred Applications > Internet > Mail Reader
* Open mozo (Control Centre > Main Menu) and open the properties for
Claws Mail
* Go back to the Preferred Applications menu - Claws Mail will no
longer be selected, nor will it be an option.
Selecting 'Revert' from the Main Menu window will remove all files in
~/.local/share/applications, and applications such as Claws Mail can
then be set as a preferred application again. (Interestingly, if you
follow the above steps Claws Mail will be the preferred mail reader
again).
This effectively means that mozo and the preferred applications
function are incompatible: you can change the properties of menu items
_or_ set an applications as a preferred application - but you can't do
both.
I'm using Debian Stretch with Mate 1.16.1 and the 4.9.0-1-amd64 kernel.
Apologies if this bug has been reported already (I couldn't find any
bugs for mozo).
Thanks,
R Rijkhoff
