Description : terminal multiplexer with tiling panes, tabs and workspaces
slat splits one terminal into panes, tabs and workspaces. The shells
run inside a background daemon, so closing the terminal window or losing
an SSH connection does not end them: running slat again reattaches to the
same session with every pane intact.

Each pane has its own terminal emulator, so full-screen programs such as
editors and system monitors stay confined to their pane, and its output
can be scrolled back and searched. Keys are driven by a single prefix key
and can be remapped in a TOML configuration file.
Why package it: it offers a simpler, zero-configuration alternative to
tmux and screen, with the keybindings shown in-app and scrollback search
built in. All its build dependencies are already in Debian (burntsushi-toml,
creack-pty, mattn-go-runewidth, golang-x-term); no new library packages are
needed.
I am the upstream author and intend to maintain the package, and I am
looking for a sponsor. The package builds in unstable, passes its test
suite and is lintian-clean apart from this bug's number.
(The source package "slat" last existed in Debian in lenny, for an
unrelated SELinux tool that was removed long ago.)
