Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "slat":

 * Package name     : slat
   Version          : 0.2.0-1
   Upstream contact : Bobby Anthene <[email protected]>
 * URL              : https://github.com/noturbob/slat
 * License          : Expat
 * Vcs : none yet; happy to move the packaging to salsa (go-team)
   Section          : utils

The source builds the following binary packages:

  slat - terminal multiplexer with tiling panes, tabs and workspaces

To access further information about this package, please visit the
following URL:

  https://mentors.debian.net/package/slat/

Alternatively, you can download the package with 'dget' using this command:

  dget -x https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/s/slat/slat_0.2.0-1.dsc

Changes since the last upload:

 slat (0.2.0-1) unstable; urgency=medium
 .
   * Initial release (Closes: #1148370)

Hi Simon,

ftpmaster accepted slat 0.2.1-1 this morning, less than a day after your
upload, and the ITP (#1148370) is closed. It is my first package in
Debian, and it would not have gotten there without your review and your
upload. Thank you.

Your review made the package better, too: moving it under the Go team,
the watch file and the man page were all things I would not have got
right on my own.

While it waited for a sponsor I kept working upstream, and today I
released slat 1.0.0:

  https://github.com/noturbob/slat/releases/tag/v1.0.0

The main additions are a control CLI, so scripts and coding agents can
drive a running session (list panes, send keys, capture output, wait
until a pane is idle or asking a question), plus mouse support, session
restore across reboots, drag-to-resize, moving panes around the layout,
copy in scroll mode, ten colour themes and a visual overhaul. It also
builds on Windows now, which does not affect Debian. The only dependency
change is that golang.org/x/sys is now a direct import; it was already
pulled in through x/term.

Since your upload carried amd64 binaries, slat needs a source-only
upload before it can migrate to testing. I will package 1.0.0-1 as that
upload, push it to Salsa once CI is green, and file a fresh RFS. If you
are happy to look at it, great; if not, no problem at all.

I am closing this RFS with this message.

Thanks again,

Bobby Anthene
