Hi Thimo,

When using the epslatex terminal the resulting *.tex does not get flushed. Try 
the following:

gnuplot> set terminal epslatex
gnuplot> set output 'output.eps'
gnuplot> plot sin(x)
gnuplot> !less output.tex

...and you will see that output.tex is still empty.

It will just get flushed if you set the terminal or the output.
