Package: kexec-tools
Version: 1.101-2
Severity: normal
Please apply the following patches for x86_64 (they are dpatch patches for
debian/patch ). They do the following:
(1) kdump10.diff.dpatch
This is the kdump10 patch from the sourceforge website, needed for kexec -p to
work.
(2) x86_64-typo.diff.dpatch
This fixes a small typo in kexec-elf-x86_64.c that causes an incorrect error
message
for --args-none
(3) crashdump_warning.diff.dpatch
[EMAIL PROTECTED] failed for me on IBM 326M eMachines servers. For some reason
(I think a collision with where the kernel is loaded), it failed to reserve
the space needed. Using [EMAIL PROTECTED] instead worked (and building
CONFIG_PHYSICAL_START=0x2000000 in the capture kernel), but finding the problem
took a while due to unhelpful "kexec_load failed" message. This gives a better
error message; for the moment on x86_64 only; it could be ported to other
archs.
