Package: libglu1-mesa
Version: 5.0.0-5
Severity: important
Problem: 1- libglu1-mesa can't pull mesag3-glide2 and resolve dependency
            2- packages (chromium) are calling libglu1 (libglu1-mesa).
Dependency resolution results in all packages requiring
               libgl1 to be uninstalled.
Workaround: installing mesag3-glide2 will successfully pull libglu1-mesa
System: Sarge, 2.4.18-bf2.4, libc6 2.3.1-16, Athlon, sis745, voodoo3
Comments: 1- related packages: mesag3-glide2, xlibmesa3
2- possibly exists with mesag3 as well- I only checked
               mesag3-glide2 for my voodoo3 card
            3- apt-cache showpkg libgl1 Reverse Provides: both xlibmesa3
and mesag3-glide2 so why can't apt-get resolve this?
4- if this is an apt-get limitation/ issue- sorry to waste
your time, please forward to responsible party or let me
know who I should contact about this

The bug log shows that this problem should have been fixed prior to the
sarge release, and I see no evidence that this bug exists in any of the
current packages, so I'm going ahead and closing it. Please reopen if you
have reason to believe it still exists.

Thanks,
