Package: mindterm
Version: 1.2.1-10
Severity: grave
I recently tried mindterm at an airport (TRI) kiosk and it did not load.
The only person I've talked to reports the same problem:
<Yoe> it doesn't appear to be working currently
<joeyh> do you see any indications of why?
<Yoe> nope
<Yoe> it downloads the applet, then sits there
<joeyh> yeah, that's what I saw.
<Yoe> perhaps I'm not patient enough (Pentium I/133Mhz), but apart from that...
<joeyh> I think i saw something about an exception in the bar, but couldn't get
a java console up
<joeyh> this is win95?
<Yoe> 98
<Yoe> not sure whether it's 98 or 98SE, but some version of 98 anyway
It looks like it's broken for multiple versions of msie. Since that's the
only likely client, this makes it useless.
If this bug can't be fixed, I think we can just drop mindterm from debian.
Most people use alternatives like putty anyway.
